This technology is embodied in a huge spectrum of networked merchandise, structures, and sensors, which take gain of advancements in computing strength, electronics miniaturization, and network interconnections to offer new talents not formerly possible. Internet of Things is a new revolution of the Internet & it is a key research topic for the researcher in embedded, computer science & information technology area due to its very diverse area of application & a heterogeneous mixture of various communications and embedded technology in its architecture. The Internet of Things promises to deliver a step-change in individuals’ quality of life and enterprises’ productivity. Through a widely distributed, locally intelligent network of smart devices, the IoT has the potential to enable extensions and enhancements to fundamental services in transportation, logistics, security, utilities, education, healthcare, and other areas, while providing a new ecosystem for application development.
A concerted effort is required to move the industry beyond the early stages of market development towards maturity, driven by a common understanding of the distinct nature of the opportunity. This market has distinct characteristics in the areas of service distribution, business and charging models, capabilities required to deliver IoT services, and the differing demands these services will place on mobile networks.
This seminar report is designed to help the Internet Society community navigate the dialogue surrounding the Internet of Things in light of the competing predictions about its promises and perils. The seminar report provides a high-level overview of the basics of IoT and some of the key issues and questions that this technology raises from the perspective of the Internet Society and the core values we promote. The seminar report also acknowledges some of the unique aspects of the Internet of Things that make this a transformational technology for the Internet.
